ENTHRONEMENT OF NEW BRITISH GRAND MASTER

15th February 2004

The retiring Grand Master, MW Bro J Michael Westcott enthroned RW Bro Jeanne Heaslewood Grand Secretary as his duly elected  successor at the Imperial Hotel Temple in Russell Square London. The Grand Master is elected every three years and Jeanne Heaslewood is the first Woman to be Enthroned as Grand Master of the first Grand Lodge of Freemasonry for Men and Women. This historic ceremony is a landmark occasion for Great Britain.

It seems amazing that already three years have passed since the founding of the Grand Lodge of Freemasonry for Men and Women in early 2001.

Jeanne Heaslewood the new Grand Master and also a Founder Member has been an active Mason for 38 years and has wide experience of the different degrees of the Antient and Accepted Scottish Rite as well as many of the other Allied and speculative degrees worked. An able administrator and a contributor to radio and TV, she has also lectured publicly on Freemasonry. Jeanne is also one of the Founder Members of The Grand Conclave of the 33rd degree. We owe a debt of gratitude to Jeanne whose unstinting and continued efforts have helped make a strong foundation for our new Grand Lodge

Congratulations and goodwill wishes for the future were received from Masonic obedience's around the world. This very happy and auspicious occasion was also attended by many distinguished guests from other Masonic obedience's who came to see history in the making and to help celebrate this landmark event and included below among others,.
